This idea of the workshop was raised in relation with our current ISF research on “Nicolaus of Damsacus's writings – commentary, translation and digitalanalysis”. The objective of the workshop is to bring together in Israel scholars involved in digitalapplications and digital research for the study of classical texts in ancient Greek and Latin. Our goals are to explore the unique challenges in applying Digital Humanities projects to Greek and Latin, to increase the synergy in the field by connecting related projects, and to consider collaborations and methods for harnessing common resources. We would like to bring together Classicists who are domain experts in Digital Humanities and who developed relevant tools. We expect to see some central emphasis on advanced methods for textual analysis: authorship attribution, text reuse detection, topic modelling, cross-language intertextuality and so forth.
