The Greek and Hebrew research group at Bar Ilan is pleased to invite you to our next online meeting, scheduled for Sunday, 18 January 2026 at 8:00pm Israel time.
The presence of Greek words in neighboring languages offers us a rare opportunity to increase our understanding of the lexical range and variation of Greek words in antiquity.
In this talk, Professor Raanan Eichler will be presenting on “Greek Words in the Hebrew Bible“, focusing on three biblical words that have not been generally recognized as coming from Greek. If there’s time, he will also present on a different topic: the strange parallel between Isocrates and Eli.
