The conference is a joint project of two IIAS research groups: “Phoenician Identity in the Making: A Longue Durée Perspective,” organized by Professors Alexander Fantalkin and Naama Yahalom-Mack, and “Can We Hear Anymore the Voice of Singing Men and Women? Recovering Phoenician Oral Poetry,” organized by Professors Noam Mizrahi and Andrea Rotstein.
The conference will bring together scholars from around the world working in archaeology, history, philology, and literary studies to explore new multidisciplinary approaches to Phoenician history, literature, and cultural transmission.
